SchoolWorld Wins Multiple WebAwards
In its thirteenth year, the international WebAward competition is the premier annual website award program that names the best websites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development. The Web Marketing Association evaluates over 2,000 submissions from 45 countries on seven specific criteria, including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease-of-use. Recipient of the School Standard of Excellence WebAward, the Tempe Elementary School District website was developed by SchoolWorld for its client of the same name. Built using an integrated solution consisting of SchoolWorld’s SchoolSites™, TeacherSites™, and WebModules™, Tempe’s Web presence includes websites for each of its 24 schools and over 700 teachers that are all seamlessly incorporated into a dynamic design that exemplifies the district’s unique brand elements. Features include district and school calendars, online surveys using Form Creator™, Podcaster™, on-demand videos, a breakfast and lunch menu system, search capabilities, e-subscriptions to the schools’ newsletters, online district and board information, enrollment registration, and much more. “Tempe came to us with a wide range of requests—including the need to create a Web-based critical alert system, multimedia features, a dynamic news system, as well as a website structure that would be accessible to everyone in the community,” said Mike Gregoire, creative director, SchoolWorld. “Upon launch, we provided Tempe Elementary School District with a vibrant website that accomplishes all of their goals while leveraging our latest product technologies to make the website an information hub as well as a complete online tool for district processes.” Tempe incorporated several of SchoolWorld’s WebModules to enhance the functionality of its Web presence. The Ed-Alert™ Module allows Tempe to operate a comprehensive alerting system that manages instant communications to parents, students, and district faculty during emergency situations via e-mail and SMS text messaging. The Community Zone™ Module allows the district to give community members access to course registration, payment, and calendaring. “Our website ushers in a new era for Tempe Elementary’s ability to not only meet the informational needs of all stakeholders, but also to provide us a dynamic way to tell our own story through words, photos, and videos,” said Gary Aungst, director of community affairs and marketing, Tempe Elementary School District. SchoolWorld was also awarded the Education Standard of Excellence WebAward for its own corporate website. SchoolWorld.com includes information on SchoolWorld’s award-winning product portfolio and is built using the SchoolSites content management system along with many WebModules. The website accomplishes two main goals—providing a wealth of information on SchoolWorld solutions as well as acting as a hands-on showcase for SchoolWorld’s products. For example, the Video On Demand™ Module allows users to view client testimonials right from the homepage while the Form Creator™ Module lets SchoolWorld survey its users on a variety of topics. Teachers also find the website useful as their log-in area for TeacherSites classroom websites. “Receiving awards from a globally recognized website competition is a testament to the dedication of excellence SchoolWorld is founded upon,” said Rob Lamy, chief executive officer of SchoolWorld. “To receive multiple awards, both for a client’s website as well as our corporate site, reflects the passion that our employees have to make our clients’ (and SchoolWorld’s) Web presence something truly unique and meaningful.” SchoolWorld’s Web solutions are used by over 114,000 teachers and 3,000 schools around the world. The Tempe Elementary School District serves the communities of Tempe, Phoenix, and Guadalupe, Arizona. CONTACT: Karin K.
